Back End posted an update in the group PaganNation.com WOOOOOO FUCKING HOOOOOO (did I mention freedom of speech and expression) - Membership is NOT ready, but after a day of loosing my mind when ever a child, wife, mother, cat, dog, or goat (yes, I said goat) demanded my attention thus turning what I was thinking on into mental goulash, I -think- I have finished with the validations. Now that sounds easy, but making sure a birthday actually exists (you know, leap year and all), making rules for passwords, making rules for subdomains names, and bla bla along with the logic of making sure it uses the least memory and cpu was a bit of a challenge with people and critters bugging the hell out of me every five minutes. Read that, my brain is a ping pong ball right now.

I will tonight try to get it to take this validated information and put it into the database, thus creating a member. Then create the email validation.

After that, THE WALL.

What that will do is allow you to reserve YOURNAME.Domain.com (example: DuckMan.PaganNation.com). All that is left to do for membership is to create the age verification to comply with the whole federal law thing. Yuck.

Part of the idea behind the new software is to have software that does not suck up memory the way wordpress and other software run sites do. When the new software can provide enough that folk will like it, I am going to replace this site with something more static that consumes almost no memory. If we can afford it, we will use it as a support site but host it on a sepererate server bank. Then if the main site goes down, there will be a back up to explain what has happened and to issue updates n such.

It still does nothing, but now the colors and lay out that I am favoring (subdued light grey) are starting to make the place look good. Would now like opinions on colors. Is the light / paper like look good. I do hate that giant blue thing on the top of Facebook (uh, and here). Seems to take away from the information being visited. Thoughts? Come on.... THOUGHTS?

If you see something screwy with layout, like overlaping areas, elements, and bla bla - let me know your browser type and version so I can see what you are seeing.

It is the one that has Home | About | Join - Might be more things. Each of those is a "module" and that menu contains the modules that everyone has to have, the simple stuff. Below, in text am now working on the module menu possition. Think of a module as an area. So the main menu brings you to areas that everyone has to have (the basics) then the module menu lets you navigate that particular area.

If you visit About at folkview.net (note dot net) you will see what I mean. Again for folk new, THIS place where I am typeing is just here to talk about the other place.
